V. How Do You Get More Grace?

Humbly depend upon God Js 4:6 gives more grace...God resists the proud, gives grace to the humble. 7 Submit...Resist...Cleanse

Lk 22:42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me;
nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."  =Christlike Humility
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (Cf Rm 12:1-2)
9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren...

1Pt 5:1 To the elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed:
2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers,
not under compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;
3 nor as being lords (cx serve) over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;
4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.
Eph 5:21 (filled with the HS)...submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Heb 13:7 Remember/keep in mind those who rule over/lead you,  who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome/end result of their way of life
Heb 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive,
for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account.
Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
1Thess 5:12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize/know/pay attention to (oida)  those who labor among you, and are over/rule over you in the Lord and admonish you. Rm 12:8 1Tim 5:17
13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

1Pt 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.
Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility,
for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sound-minded, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil
walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Cf Acts 20:29 wolves
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus,
after you have suffered a while,
perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1Thess 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober/sound-minded 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.
8 But let us who are of the day be sober/sound-minded,  putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salavation
9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation thru our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
11 Therefore encourage each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize/know/pay attention to (oida)  those who labor among you, and are over/rule over you in the Lord and admonish you. 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn/admonish those who are unruly, encourage the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good  both for yourselves and for all.

Drunk= self-indulgent, lacking self-control; unaware of and insensitive to reality
Sober= temperate, self-controlled; accurate perception of reality and watchful; on guard

1Thess 5:6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober <3525>. 8  But let <3525> us, who are of the day, be sober <3525>, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
2Tim 4:5  But watch <3525> thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
1Pt 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober <3525>, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Pt 4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober <4993>, and watch <3525> eis(for the purpose of) prayer.
1Pt 5:8  Be sober <3525>, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pt 4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober <4993>, and watch <3525> eis=(for the purpose of) prayer.

3525 ~????~ nepho AV-be sober 4, watch 2; 6  1) to be sober, to be calm and collected in spirit  2) to be temperate, dispassionate, circumspect

Know God 2Pt 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you thru knowledge of God...
3 power...given to us called to glory & virtue

3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness,
through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue <703>
703 ~??????~ arete \@ar-et’-ay\@ AV-virtue 4, praise 1; 5  1) a virtuous course of thought, feeling and action
1a) virtue, moral goodness  2) any particular moral excellence, as modesty, purity
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises,
that thru these you may be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world thru lust/desire
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence,  add to your faith virtue <703>, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control,  to self-control perseverance,   to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, (philadelphia)   and to brotherly kindness,  love (agape).
8 For if these things are yours and abound,
you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge  (grace) of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Perceive it by means of the truth Col 1:6...heard...and knew the grace of God ev/in/by truth
Col 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4              since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;
5                because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before
in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6                which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit,
as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in/by truth;
7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in/by all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10           that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him,
being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11                                           strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power,
for all patience and longsuffering with joy;
12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers
of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
