  Pr 1:28 "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. 29 Because they
  hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD,  (careful to do what is right in His sight)
  Pr 28:9            One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.

II. He tells rebellious liars that his loyalty to God, results in God protecting and listening to him, therefore they should fear and repent.

2 How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love vain rebellion 2:1 and seek falsehood? Selah

3 But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly/covenant loyalty hesid; The LORD will hear when I call to Him.

  29 Let no useless word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers
  30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

  Ps 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy/gladness; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore

8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.  cf Ps 1

  Pr 1:32 For the turning away of the simple/deceived/(empty-headed) will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
  33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil."

Questions for Reflection/Discussion/Response:
1. Why would God answer your prayers? Why would He not? How loyal are you to Him? Prove it. What do you love and seek?
2. Is all anger sin? What things make God/Jesus/HS angry/grieved Ps 7:11? What makes you angry? When does human anger become sin?
3. How do you respond when you feel insecure, attacked, overwhelmed? How has your response been transformed by God's Word?
4. What worship or sacrifices do you offer to God? Is he pleased with what you give Him? What would please Him more?
5. When God looks at you, is He smiling or frowning? Do you experience His presence, pleasure, and peace? How could it improve?
