Helpers of Joy Pt B - Sowing in Sorrow (c) 2016 WF Cobb Truthbase.net DailyTruthbase.blogspot A. To learn to rejoice in God alone, we must know and experience God as He is revealed: in His Word and in response to our faith. Ps 40:16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; B. Faith is essential to joy - cx anxiety/worry Mt 6:30 you of little faith, fear, and doubt Mt 14:31; Rm 10:17 faith..hearing, by word of God. C. Joy is gained thru seeking/receiving/believing Truth; Lost thru failing to endure/follow the Truth Mt 13:20-21 D.Joy is a blessing from getting right with God Ps 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. E. Holiness, Growth and Service build our joy Phil 1:25...I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith Acts 26:18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' Jn 4:36 he who reaps receives wages/reward, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. Mt 25:21 Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful...make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. F. Expectation of Joy alleviates Experience of Sorrow for doing what is right. Ps 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. 2Tim 1:11...teacher of the Gentiles. 2 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.15 This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are... 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 3 You therefore must endure hardship 6 The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead acc to my gospel, 9 for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 1Cor 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation...13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 2Cor 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." Ps 112 2Cor 9:10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the ministry/labor/liturgy of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof/manifestation of this ministry/labor, they glorify God for the obedience {of your confession} to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing/fellowship toward them and toward all men, Jn 16: 20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 2 Cor 2:2 sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad...made sorrowful by me? 3 And I wrote this very thing to you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all. 2 Cor 6:10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 13 requite Ps 58:10 righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance...11 Surely there is a reward for the righteous; He is God who judges in the earth Hab 3:17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit...the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls ---18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. |
